Police claim that when they stopped the bus, they caught a whiff of marijuana and decided to conduct a quick search. Inside, they found two ounces of the drug. Ethan Calhoun, 27, and Kevin Barkey, 26, admitted that the drugs belonged to them and were booked on marijuana possession charges. The two men, whose association with the rapper was not disclosed, were transported to the Navarro County Jail and face fines of up to $2,000 and six months in jail, if convicted.

"One of the coolest things I see now is fathers and sons coming to the show together," Finn said. "We're kind of a classic-rock band, and people who grew up in the '70s and '80s even can probably relate to us as much as a 21-year-old kid now. There's also a really interesting sense of community with the fans — there's a particular group called the Unified Scene who wear matching T-shirts and form these bonds through the shows. And I never thought we'd see that."

So that's where the Hold Steady find themselves today: still partying hard, still touring even harder, but in front of audiences that now include dads and daughters. It's the kind of landscape shift they can deal with. After all, change is a constant when you're the best band in America. Or something like that.

Since I began meeting the cast, I can't shake the thought that "Twilight" might become one of those "Breakfast Club," "Diner" or "Dazed and Confused"-type movies that launch the careers of numerous young stars and then leave us all looking back, amazed that they all once acted together. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson obviously have big-time acting chops, and actors like Mike Welch, Taylor Lautner and Kellan Lutz are just a few of the others who seem like they could similarly explode if given the right project.

If I were a betting man, however, I'd place my money on Jackson Rathbone, a 23-year-old actor who also plays several musical instruments and has lived all over the world. In person, he's a cool customer with an Elvis-like twang, radiating the kind of charisma that could make George Clooney look like McLovin. While speaking with him, I found a disarmingly intelligent star who took the "Twilight" world as seriously as any super-fan. "My record is catering towards the mature hip-hop fan," he added. "The kids might be able to get with it, but it ain't just playing, it ain't just partying — it's reality. To me, this album, Raw Footage, is a real spiritual record. I don't know if I've ever mentioned God on as many records as I do on Raw Footage. But it's a lot that needs to be said. It's an instructional record too. Hopefully some of these people can sidestep some of these pitfalls out there once they hear Raw Footage."

Cube is going on domestic and international promo runs during the next few weeks and said he'd be open to doing a major tour with people such as Young Jeezy, Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne. There will definitely be more albums in the years to come.
